Program process

The following process applies only to candidates who wish to become Members.
Open Developers merely need to register online.

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to become a Member of the Alcatel-Lucent Alliance and Application Partner Program (AAPP), access its development tools, and apply for Certified Application status.

Step 1: Online registration

After reading and accepting the AAPP Terms and Conditions, fill in the registration form to provide general information about your company and candidate application. Note that only one application is allowed per registration form. If you wish to apply for Certified Application status for several applications, please first select the one that is the most important to you.

This information will be used by Alcatel-Lucent to evaluate the interest of a partnership and its technical feasibility. All information provided during registration is kept private and confidential.

Step 2: Candidacy evaluation

Alcatel-Lucent will acknowledge your candidacy before evaluating it. Evaluation criteria are as follows:

• For Members
  • Candidate will obtain a project or application to implement within a year of subscription
  • Candidate will add value to projects or solutions with joint end customers
• For Partners
  • This status is open only to AAPP Members selected by Alcatel-Lucent
  • The candidate is actively engaged in pursuing a sustainable policy of solution certification with Alcatel-Lucent
  • The candidate's activity represents a recurrent revenue perspective, through a certified solution
  • The candidate adds value to the positioning of Alcatel-Lucent business
  • The candidate has regional coverage (e.g., EMEA, APAC etc.)

Alcatel-Lucent will notify you of the results of the evaluation, usually within two to three weeks.

Step 3: Acceptance

The membership fee covers participation in the AAPP Program for one year, and access to standard tools and services. Members and Partners may order additional services through the Catalog, according to their needs and API types.

Membership status is finally conferred upon payment of membership fees (unless otherwise stated). Please note that participants who are invited to join as Partners will initially be registered as Members upon payment of the associated fees, until the application has been awarded Certified Application status.

Membership fees and AAPP pricing, as of October 1st, 2009:

• For Members, the annual fee is Euros 1,200
  
  Technical services include a personal login for up to 5 individuals of your company to access an on-line resource center which hosts technical documentation for the Alcatel-Lucent platforms, development tools, implemented standards and APIs, facilities for downloading software updates, etc.
  • technical support must be ordered in addition, at a cost of Euros 1,800/year up to 5 cases.
    "Technical Support" means access (by phone, e-mail or web based) to our expert support team during development phase, and (for certified applications only) at run time.
  • e-testing is available at a cost of Euros 600/quarter. This is a new, aggressive low cost solution vs buying your own equipment
  • technical certification is available at a cost of Euros 1,200/day (unchanged)
• For Partners, the yearly fee is Euros 4,000. Services included with the Partners fee are the same as for Members, plus the following:
  • technical support (up to 5 cases/year. Additional 5 cases packages available at Euros 1,800)
  • e-testing facility
  • technical certification is available at a cost of Euros 1,200/day (unchanged)

Step 4: Access to tools and services

After payment, your membership will be activated. You will receive a login to access the private area of this Web site.

Step 5: Verification procedures (for Certified Applications only)

It is important to note that participation in the AAPP Program involves application certification.

This certification is not included in the membership fees and is not automatic. Such tests may be run by Alcatel-Lucent or by a third-party company selected by Alcatel-Lucent (at the Member's expense: 1,200 Euros per day).
